I get to laugh everytime I see anything on local TV or print media. It's like they are doing a casting call for the worlds dumbest ideas.
First, on TV, the same old story about how the illegal fireworks make their way into yuppie burbs and are fired off at dusk. One old lady claimed it was like 'living in a war zone.' She looked old enough to have experienced the Revolutionary War but I bet she was referring to her younger days in the Civil War. I'm not amazed at the lack of creativity or actual news, but that the TV media must have really short attention spans not to realize that they do the same story year after year after year...
Second, Coach Osborne's friends in Washington (wait, he campaigned for Governor by saying he wasn't a Washington Insider) are urging the idiot in the White House to put the Coach in the Administration. Right, one lacky from NE (Secretary of Agriculture) isn't enough. They cited Mr Osborne's football coaching experience. I'm trying to remember if the Washington Redskins are a cabinet level organization...wait...
Finally, it's the weekend before the 4th of July. It's our freedom won from the British (not the Germans, Japanese, Koreans, Vietnamese, or Iraqis) that gave us what we have. Honor men like Franklin, Adams, Washington, Jefferson and the brave souls that signed the Declaration of Independance and ratified our Consitution. Ours is the only country that ratified a document that has withstood wars, internal conflicts and is truly a living document.

Moving at the speed of family
I had a somewhat relaxing weekend. Seeing my younger cousin Eric receive his first communion and most of the entire family together was nice. One thing my family will never be short of, food. I'm sure I could have packed enough away for myself to eat th e rest of the week, but... :)
An aunt and uncle (and younger cousin) are anxiously awaiting the completion of their brand new home in August. They had pictures of the progress. One nice big house :)
I say 'younger cousins' because they'll soon be taller than me I'm sure. :)
I have a cousin due to arrive in June. I'll be 49 when he/she graduates from high school. Man, I'm old :P
The move is almost done. Had some great help getting stuff moved. After work I'm just a little too tired to want to lift stuff for another 4 hours.
I'm getting better at the blog :)
